My education consists of a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Grand Valley State University, and a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University. I am also licensed as an LLP in the State of Michigan. This allows me to perform intellectual and psychological testing, as well as diagnose and treat mental health disorders. In addition, I receive ongoing supervision from a fully licensed psychologist.
Professional experience for me consists of working with adults and adolescents in various capacities. In the community mental health system I performed case management, intensive case management, clinical supervision, and individual/group therapy for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance use issues. For a period of time I was contracted through the MDOC to provide group therapy for individuals on probation/parole with a charge of Criminal Sexual Conduct. Additionally, I have provided both individual and group therapy to adolescents struggling with substance use issues.
My areas of specialty include working with adolescents and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, adjustment, substance use, schizophrenia, and behavioral issues. I believe in treating individuals holistically, integrating mental health, physical health, and substance use issues. I am passionate about utilizing evidenced based modalities in collaboration with you to assist you in accomplishing your goals.
